As this is a film marathon, you’ll need to get your hands on a 35mm film camera. We provide the roll of film, you provide the camera. It can be any kind from a cheap plastic toy camera to a high end pro SLR. As long as it can accept 35mm film, you’re good.
You may already have (access to) one and not even realize it. Check with your parents or friends…they probably have one collecting dust in the attic or closet since most folks these days have gone digital.
No luck with them? Try a thrift store. Your local shop probably has a camera or two under the glass at the counter and costs next to nothing. As long as it still works, you’re good…plus you’ll have a fun camera for after the marathon.
Lots of places like Urban Outfitters are also going retro and selling (new) film cameras. Some of these cameras even have funky lenses like this fisheye camera from Lomography:

Just make sure the camera you dig up works with 35mm film – plenty of older cameras (and the plastic ones) use medium format (120) film which won’t work for the photo marathon.
Happy shooting!
